Secrets Mudborne Game Top
It’s no coincidence that two of the frog’s traits map to the temperature + moisture of your cultivators…
There are four general environments on the maps where you'll find mushrooms growing: the grass on the top of any section of island, the mud denoted by brown pits with walking boards above them to keep your little froggy feet clean, indoors depending on the air quality, and in the water dotted about as you explore the pond wandering between the island segments.
com We want to try and do some good with our platform even if it's teeny tiny! As such we will be donating a chunk of all game profits to various charities.
Rift Breach was a small game made in 3 weeks as part of a personal game jam by Ell. Taking inspiration from roguelikes, dungeon crawlers, and metroidvanias, they wanted to experiment with having the player themselves decide the layout of the dungeon, and how that would effect 'keys' being a resource.
Those are the main areas, but there’s also some other bits and bobs that’ll be included or expanded upon in the full game, such as:
You awaken from your hibernation to find your pond abandoned and empty. Through a combination of crafting minigames, menu management and puzzle solving, experiment with genetics to breed new frogs and recover what was lost.
For a hint at which mushrooms you'll need to alter Mudborne Game genetics required to open Reflection Ponds, check out the little signs just beside the pool itself - these offer a hint at which mushrooms to use in your magic mud to create the frog that opens that Pond.

Mudborne is being created by ellraiser, one half of the indie-dev studio, TNgineers. A spiritual successor of sorts to APICO, Mudborne instead focuses on genetic manipulation and generational puzzles to create and discover all sorts of frog species, with experimentation being encouraged.
I introduce ancestry towards the end of the spawning pools - I didn’t want to have things too complex just for the demo/tutorial region, but in the full game there’ll be a lot more advanced frogs requiring some clever magic mud across several generations to form.
Not only will they offer plenty of cute frog furniture to stash the frogs you create with all these mushrooms in a fashionable abode, but they've got plenty of gear like Hydrators, Dehydrators, and Heaters to allow you to control the climate of a small area using frogs with the correct stats.
There’ll be lots to explore and uncover, and get to the bottom of what happened while you work to bring everyone back.
